Where We Are

Tou Panou is right in the village centre of Kardamyli, the jewel of West Mani. From April-October flights operate from London and other cities to Kalamata, approximately an hour's drive away. Everything is on your doorstep here: shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, beaches - as well as Old Kardamyli, which dates from the Byzantine era, and walking trails in the Vyros Gorge. A five-minute drive away is the house of Patrick and Joan Leigh Fermor, which has guided tours. There is a Jazz Festival in May, and there are two literary festivals in autumn, see here and here. And the entire area offers much to explore: nearby Stoupa and Kalogria offer sandy beaches, and the charming fishing village of Aghios Nikolaos is great for eating out. Further south, you venture into Deep Mani, where you will find the Caves of Diros, the historic Maniot village of Vathia, Cape Tenairon...the list goes on.

Although Tou Panou is just a block away from Kardamyli's village square, it is very peaceful! Mostly, what you hear is birdsong.
