Silk Sisters centres on the world of fashion. Why? Because secretly, I always wanted to be a fashion designer. There’s just one drawback: I’m scared of sewing. And numbers. All that measuring, and adding-up and taking-away…yeesh. I run away from anything remotely technical. If all you needed to become a top fashion designer was the ability to imagine fun clothes, I’d be running Haus of Gaga by now. Unfortunately, that only accounts for about one percent of it. Anyway, here are some of my doodles: “Shoe Hat” (below)

I invented this all by myself, I did. Years later, I discovered that Elsa Sciapparelli had also invented it, over half a century earlier.

See the mouth? Do you see it? Going from wrist to wrist, across the shoulders and chest? That’s mine, that is. Copyright Fiona Dunbar ©. As far as I know, no one else has done this. Possibly because with arms in normal position, it would be a sad mouth most of the time. You’d have to be waving your arms in the air, for it to be a happy mouth.
You may be wondering why this lady has only one eye: well, that’s just me being artsy. And anyway, to compensate she’s wearing an Eye Hat. In the land of the blind, the one-eyed hat-wearer is queen – especially if she’s STARING INTO YOUR SOUL with this hat.

Self-explanatory. Little bits of the Parthenon for your feet; the idea is that the show would have a blue background, and wear with matching tights. Why? Because you need footwear based on great buildings of the ancient world. Of course you do. And rococo shoes with faces in the heels.
